Closing Day

We had such a wonderful closing day on July 23!! After meeting with the History Maker Homes rep and the builder we zipped over to the title company to close. Right before we began, I got a phone call from the principal at Northside High School and was offered the head softball/geometry job! I accepted and am now waiting on a call to go sign my paperwork and start JV volleyball on Aug. 3. The closing process took only about 45 minutes then we had to wait a couple of hours for the funding the be approved. Below are some pictures while we drove around exploring the area around our new house.

We went to Sam Moon and goofed around

We had to wait about 45 minutes for the real estate agent to get back in order to pick-up our house keys..... Skyler had to GO! I love this picture because it looks like he's river dancing!

Opening the door for the first time to our new house!

I went through the back!

Spraying for bugs. There were lots of Black Widow spiders!

Couple random things

We decided to play my super nintendo one night and have some wine (SO romantic I know!). =) Skyler always seems to spill his wine! This time it was right on the floor but he immediately put cleaner on it and scrubbed and it came out great!

Mops has a new favorite place to sleep.... he's such a sweet kitty!

Water Heater Trouble

We went to a movie this evening and saw "My Sister's Keeper." It was nothing like the book but definitely a tear jerker! When we got home Skyler opened the door and went "Oh no... you're not going to believe this....." I thought the dogs had torn up something but after further investigation I saw that there was water ALL over the hallway floor and onto the living room carpet. The water heater busted! Skyler couldn't get it to shut off so we called the emergency maintenance guy and he came out in about 30 minutes. Tomorrow we will get the heater fixed; therefore my shower was SUPER cold tonight. I've got an interview in the morning though so I had to suffer through! We both can't wait till we move into our house... then there will be no more malfunctions EVER!!! (right??) =)
